Welcome, Truffles

So ten weeks ago THIS happened - our beloved Puddleduck became a big sister to a sunny, hungry and utterly divine little truffle pig. We're all absolutely head over heels for our delicious bundle and it's hard to imagine we ever existed without her in our lives. Although a dash more sleep would be very welcome ...

It's funny, if you'd asked me ten and a half weeks ago whether I expected another baby to throw our household into sheer and utter chaos, I would have said yes, most definitely. Actually, that's not entirely true. Ten and a half weeks ago I would have said I just WANTED HER OUT and to hell with the chaos. And truth be told, ten and a half weeks ago you wouldn't have been asking me about the impact I anticipated her arrival would have on our household, you would have been hassling me about when I thought she might bother to show up. It's amazing how inconvenient friends and family seem to find the final weeks of pregnancy - it's as though by staying pregnant right up to and - gasp! - beyond your due date is a personal affront to all those around you. You're refusing to allow your baby out simply to spite them.

Anyway, I digress.

Ten and a half weeks ago I could never have predicted how beautifully little Truffles would settle into our lives. Yes, there's been screaming. Yes. there have been - and still are - sleepless nights, but it's as if she has always been here. I think we'll keep her ;)
